Our Story
Natural Tech Artificial Grass & Landscaping is a family owned and operated landscape construction company founded by Rob Orlando. The story starts in 1980.
From Rob
Rob started working in the landscape business in 1980 to pay his way through college, working for Fisher Landscape in Saratoga, California as a responsible managing employee under Jack Fisher. After five years learning the trade, he became a 50/50 partner in 1987. In 1987 Rob sold his half back to Jack and moved up to the Granite Bay area, going into business with his brother Rich. Both of them earned their California C-27 Landscape Contractor licenses that same year. Rich activated his license first, so the two of them ran the business together until they dissolved it in 1993. At that point Rob activated his own C-27 license and started Natural Tech Landscape, now 22 years ago. In 2006 Rob opened a second company called Pacific Grass and Turf. He stepped away from that company in 2011 and Rich took it over. Natural Tech does most of our installations in Northern California, but we’ve traveled as far as Manhattan, New York for the right project.

I’ve been involved in farming and ranching since I was a small boy. I started driving tractors and working on my family’s cattle ranch and orchards when I was about 8 years old. My father taught me so much and instilled a great work ethic and pride in what I do.

I love working outdoors. I love landscaping. But where I really excelled, and where I still enjoy it most, is in installing artificial grass fields and residential lawns. I’ve been doing it for over 35 years and I’m still not tired of it. My crew and I take pride in our work, and we’re always trying to learn and get better at what we do. Eddie has been working with Rob for 25+ years. He runs our install crews and has forgotten more about artificial turf and hardscape installation than most companies’ owners will ever know.

Every crew member on your job has a minimum of 10 years of installation experience, with several boasting over 20 years. We don’t use day laborers. The person who walks your property and writes your bid is the same person running the job once work starts.
